Re: **LIVE FROM THE FIELD - 2017**
Taking advantage of a rare weekday sit thanks to the snow and ice knocking power out at my office. High of 26 today and still have most of yesterday mornings snow hanging around. Sitting my favorite bedding area, only second time I’ve sat it all year with the first being back in October. Only one buck tag left after Sunday’s kill and only one known candidate on either of my private lands that I’m willing to use it on. I’m in his core area, maybe I’ll get to play some string music to him.

Thanks turned out awesome i need practice setting up with sticks i used my saddle so it was comfy got some geting used to it though the aiders scare me cant get boot in them easily.
I should have probably pushed up the point a little bit further. Had a really big deer come from the point and stop and bed 20 yards from me between me and the point so i diddnt go up point far enough. Its shotgun here and there wer guys out so the deer knew it. Im pretty sure it was a buck with no horns it was behind a tree and i coudnt see his head only the ring around his nose and white in his ears he laid there all night. I had to shake a branch to get him to leave. He never knew i was there.
I thought it was a complete success. I scouted it a month ago found couple beds on tip of point. Came back and sat it and seen a big bodied deer so i think im on the right track. Thanks to dan and all of you guys. Monday tuesday and wednesday next beast hunts then im done
Get ready to meeat the bbsk saturday im so pumped

Re: **LIVE FROM THE FIELD - 2017**
Hit a doe square in the apex of the shoulder socket this afternoon at 4pm. Shot her from the ground, in a ghillie suit, with the longbow; inbetween bedding and a food source. 10ft, yes ft, shot. Amazing hunt, perfect setup, just didn't execute. Very glad she is ok as well. Trotted off, stopped and snorted, not even visibly phased.
Learned a lot from this one... humbling to say the least.

Oh man talk about one that gets your heart pumping. Get to add a doe hunt and one heck of a story to my favorite hunts list (as well as my "arrows I wish I had back" list). Although it didn't work out exactly how I planned I'm still very thankful for the outcome; about the best nonlethal shot placement I could have asked for.

Just when you thought it was over...
Last night for me in the metro unit. Open until the 31st but this sit will be it for me. Haven’t seen much for bucks lately. Just hoping for a relaxing sit to end the season, would be nice to see a deer though

Doe with a couple of her fawns. Early movement and it was nice to see deer on my last sit. That's a wrap!!

Re: **LIVE FROM THE FIELD - 2017**
Joined this great forum a few weeks ago and have been combing through a lot of older threads from past year or so and learnt a great deal of information! Found this thread, looked at the amount of posts and thought, why not? Read through every post and man what an exciting season it was for everyone! Rollercoaster ride of up and down. Really looking forward to the 2018 season being a complete newbie to the beast style hunting! Best of luck to everyone this season!!
