Action was extremely slow but feel I held my own! Woo wee what a drag. sorry I couldn't resist...
Actually for a good cause, believe it was the meals on wheels and all deer donated to the less fortunate.

Someone sent me the pic. Believe it was a truck at a butcher where the hunters could drop off deer and donate to the needy!

Re: **LIVE FROM THE FIELD - 2017**
Wow thats awesome
Bad part is here where i live is the state has a donation program but all the prison idiots ( inmates ) get them to eat instead of the real needy people who work their buts off and still need help dont get it like they should
And me being a retired prison gaurd i refuse to donate deer to our state because of this reason
Everyone should really look into where the deer really goes make sure it goes to people and families who deserve it and not to a bunch of idiots who are a leach to a lifestyle long forgotten
Wish it was different here
We eat most of it anyway
Sorry no offense to anyone its just how i feel lol

Re: **LIVE FROM THE FIELD - 2017**
I got out last Friday afternoon for an eventful hunt. Wind was blowing hard in the 20mph range. I carefully walked into a section of woods where there was a stand overlooking some oak trees where the deer like to feed. Snow was on the ground and it was COLD so I figured at some point they'd be feeding.
Well, I was quite surprised when I spotted them from about 80 yds out already underneath the stand at only 2:45pm ish. There was some good cover and I had the wind slightly to my advantage as a cross wind that was blowing just slightly off so they weren't getting my scent. I stalked and moved up to within 60 yards as there was a fence with brush grown into it that would act as a screen and I could hide behind and possibly get a shot. Unfortunately, I think they busted me and must have got my wind as I moved up and didn't have the slightly off wind anymore.
I was really surprised to see the 3rd deer running off was a buck and possibly the 4 year old I've been after on this farm. Interestingly enough, the does circled around back, didn't come within bow range. It's bow only for buck at this time so I was only hunting with the bow.
Based on what I saw Friday, I am going to go back to that area the next cold snap we get. This time I'm gonna get in a lot earlier though as they were active a lot earlier than usual with the snow and cold.

Re: **LIVE FROM THE FIELD - 2017**
Got a late start this morning, been fighting a touch of the crud as well as the sting of a miss last week (with a rifle, how does that even happen ). Have been on stand for about an hour with the muzzleloader, 20 degrees and light snow. Passed a three year old 8 point a few minutes ago. He’s been highly visible these past few weeks, that was the third time I’ve seen him in three hunts in this area and I know my dad has seen him a few times. Hopefully he will have around til next fall and put on a little more tine length and mass.

Last day of the season here in Kentucky. Trying to fill once more doe tag and fill the freezer just a little more.
Been a great season in no small part to the Hunting Beast.
