I look a little closer and there lays a small 4 point shed.. looks like a yearling and it's already an 8 point! I shined some giants in this area this summer...only problem is I don't what time of year they are using this area! I had to walk a mile through thick nasty. I about killed my self also lololol I'm sooooooooooo glad I brought some water with!!!!!

I think the shed antler gives some insight as to what time of year it is being used

I'm just letting other guys stack my spots. aren't some of u guys saying u need to hunt smarter?

I work with a lady who now is very intolerant of heat after her first experience with heat stroke two years ago. I know what you are talking about, for sure. Be careful.

Since I didn't get out, I got some honey do list stuff done. On my way home from work, seen some good deer out eating around 3:30, storms rolled in around 5:00 ish, really poured a bit later. I would have gotten soaked plus a good lighting show. I'll give it a try next week.
Best to all that are out.

I know that's awesome. Massachusetts whitetail season doesn't start until OCTOBER 16!!! so, this thread and the kill zone are kinda killing me...

What a rookie night. Weather swapped today. Cooled off. Humidity gone. So got an early start. Put my Rick climbing harness on...put my fanny pack on...grabbed my bow...ummm where is my bow. Yep. Right at home where I left it.

Back in truck. 45 minutes round trip. Put my gear on...no binos. Climb tree. Drop haul up rope.

So I maDE it all settled in by 5 30. Still throwing stand sits at my #1 buck.

So hot!!!! Absolutely baking! Maybe the deer will need to move to a shady spot and will catch them between beds.

Set up on the ground in a bed. Glassed it from a distance to make sure a buck wasn't home. Then snuck in. More bedding to the south of me 50 yds away.

Set up on the edge of a bean field tonight in a ground blind my dad and I made on Monday night in the tall grass. Sat here Monday and Tuesday and had does and fawns in both nights, just couldn't make it happen. We will see how it goes tonight. You guys think it will be late movement from the deer cause it's hot out!?
