Havn't been back here since I shot a doe almost 3 weeks ago. Sit down and start scanning with my binos and lo and behold there's a hunter in the treeline 250 yds across the field. He might have permission, I don't know. The landowner never told me anybody else hunted back here, but the guy's not wearing a square inch of orange. :o rather suspicious

He's pretty well directly upwind of me, but with the south wind I suspect the deer to bed on my end of the woodlot anyway.

He’s likely trespassing. No orange

Two different doe groups came through before dark. Zero wind tonight, woods were quiet. A really nice nice to be out to be sure.

My stand will stay up all weekend, kind of relaxing and more or less hoping to get lucky since it's buck only. You never know.

Good luck everyone! Late report from the opener up north. He's not huge by no means, but the body was pretty big though. The rest of the group has been hunting all week and hasn't seen a deer. Pretty slow. This was only the second deer I saw all season too.

Saw a lone baldy. Had her nose straight up in the air when I spotted her. Thermals, I should have known better.

Taking a break from this slow WI rifle season and bringing the bow back into a MN marsh tonight. Going in over bedding with a marginal wind. I like how this spot sets up with a WNW wind but if they are bedded too far to the E I’ll blow them out. I have good service in the marsh so I’ll be posting updates on this one. I missed a slob buck in this spot in 2012 on a WNW wind. Hoping a good one uses the same bed he used.

I sat the spot once in the early season and almost scored. Had a 120s wide 10 come out. Now that gun season is over and muzzleloader Hunting is not allowed here I think my bedding spots should be more stacked up than ever.

Hey JM,
You hunting late season bow? Other post said you’re done for the year. This can’t be true

I've got a couple of doe tags, which I don't want to use. I might get out muzzleloader season to try and fill my gun buck tag.....it's kinda sad when the season is winding down.

Well, I’m setup in one of my favorite marsh spots. Unfortunately some prospecting hunter also discovered it and left a hang on cheap stand with screw in steps. Both leaving it and screw in steps illegal on national refuge land. I will be reporting it.

Not enough time to relocate. Can only hope it was a gun hunter with minimum sits here. Grass wasn’t matted down under his stand so here’s to hoping.
