Good luck to those hitting the woods today

I'll be in the woods but with a fishing rod in my hand. One more wading trip for me. 1 more week in Wisconsin

On stand now for rest of the day. Never done this before in early season. Family is gone for the day. It's cool. If wind does not cooperate...it's not going to happen today either. Not a big fan of light and variable. Wind is supposed to be 5 to 6 mph and N ne switching to N. The only thing I have going for me is that I am hunting urban. I can see houses 70yds away. Bucks have been here daylight on any wind. It's a crazy spot. Lots of old rubs. Not far from bedding. I have one bed I suspect that 3.5 is using.

One of the bucks I am chasing us still in velvet. He was on his feet at 7 this morning 300yds N of me. With this moon seeing a lot of mid morning noon action.

Wind finally swinging around to be closer to what I was hoping for. 2 or 3, getting down and swapping to another tree. Better visibility .

Also hunting expanded/urban this morning and also got down to switch trees....unfortunately mine was due to tenting transients having a morning brew.

To each their own..just happy to be in the woods!

Made the switch around 2 30 or so when it started to shower. Not a lot of deer in here so expect to either see a good buck or nothing. Hunting in a tree I prepped last year but never hunted.

Winds right acorns falling rubs scrapes bed 100 yards to the north. In the tree doing my part. Come on buck!
