No buck here yet. I've had chances.....got a bad hit on a 120's 8 on the public and couldn't find him, but also passed on a couple 2.5's that I would have shot in a heartbeat a few years ago.

Unfortunate thing is that hunting time will be really limited for the rest of the season due to me having to work more OT at work. Hope to get out some late season, maybe put a doe in the freezer, then get after the scouting again.

Seen 2 mature bucks didn't get either. One cover was too thick to put a arrow through other was head on walking under me and did a 360 ran away.

Have let a few 2 year olds walk if I get into December I might take a decent 2 year old. Right now holding out for 3 year old or older.

No buck yet, no worries here...I'm out to have fun and learn. Had my release on a few times...hugely different from my first year. Now, every time I go out in the woods, I know I have a chance, thats all I want. Seen a bunch of bucks-in -trucks coming home from gun season...if they were sunnies, I'd throw "em back  I choose to not hunt like others because I dont want what they kill...MHO :handgestures-thumbup:

No for this year so far - full draw on one didn't get a clean shot. Seen a lot of bucks, not a lot of them I wanted to shoot. I shouldn't but sometimes I put pressure on me with getting one - so with gun season I am filling tags cause I need to fill my freezer.

Been lucky enough to shoot the best two bucks I’ve seen hunting or that I had on camera. I’ve had a lot of years where it sure didn’t come this easy.

I have had a good year.

But it's the hunt we are after. Even after killing three bucks the only thing on my mind is getting back to WV to chase a buck there. Those hills told me I couldn't kill one there so I have to go prove to myself that I can. I may not succeed but the desire to break myself down trying is intense.

Just to be clear, it's not about being greedy. It's just an instinctive drive to hunt, to be a predator.
