I was out duck hunting this morning and noticed some rubs where I was set up that were from this year. Has anyone noticed if bucks will stay out on Islands like this through out the year? Or possibly just during the rut searching for does?
Either way I will probably head out there tomorrow and do some one man drives on them just curious to see everyone's thoughts

Re: Deer Drives on wisconsin river islands
Depends on depth of water around the islands. I see them swimming in the summer. Not common but every other year or so I see them. But I see them pretty often standing in back bays with water up to their belly.
The best islands are the ones they can walk to. I have one by me that’s private but I see deer all over it while fishing.

Deer are gray swimmers, all seasons, and will absolutely use islands to walls ape pressure. Worth checking out for sure. I know folks who used to do quite well driving islands.
