Roger Rothhaar passed away
I grew up reading his books and stories.
Great bow hunter
WHITETAIL GURU ROGER ROTHHAAR IS DEAD AT 79 -- Just got word that Roger Rothhaar has passed away. Roger was a longtime contributor to BOWHUNTER Magazine, first as editor of the Professional Bowhunter Society column that started with Vol. 1, No. 1 in 1971. He was a PBS founder, officer, and longtime supporter. He also supported the Compton Traditional Bowhunters and was a lifetime proponent of "hunting the hard way."
His 1972 feature article, "In Pursuit of Trophy Whitetails," and follow-up articles in the series, were later published in his 1982 book of the same name. It sold thousands of copies and thrust its author into the national spotlight as one of the most knowledgeable and successful North American deer hunters. Roger had lost his wife, Jane, in 2017. A heart issue has been listed as the cause of his death. RIP, Roger! You will be missed by many.

I remember his writings and great bowhunting accomplishments. If I remember correctly he created the snuffer broadhead.

Sad to hear. Rodger was a good man with a passion for whitetails second to none. The man forgot more knowledge about scrapes then most will ever know. Will be missed. RIP

Bummer for sure.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: Roger Rothhaar passed away
Seems we've lost a few good hunters recently. Hopefully no more. I enjoyed watching his enthusiasm for the sport.
