What Was Your Best Day of 2017?
This was the first year I actually kept a journal and paid attention to movement based on wind, pressure, etc. both personal observations and trail cams. This year one day in particular jumps out at me as the best in the woods and the best on trail cam, and that was November 11. Looking back at the weather it was the highest pressure day by far in November and we had a slight east wind which is very rare. I think those two factors combined with the rut in my area all came together for a perfect day. I saw bigger bucks other days, and didn't kill anything on November 11, but I saw the best movement, the most mature bucks, and the second biggest buck of the season chasing a doe at 60 yards.
Just curious what other folks would consider their best day for deer/mature buck movement. I don't mean the day you shot your big buck necessarily, just the day you saw the best movement whether in person or on trail cam.

Re: What Was Your Best Day of 2017?
November 6th has long been my "magic" day. This year the 8th was my best buck day but that's also when the cold front hit.
It seems like a lot of emphasis is placed on moon phase, pressure, or any number of weather conditions but you don't hear as much about photoperiod controlling a whitetails year.
In Kentucky gun season starts the second Saturday of November which always seems to put a big damper on deer movement.
Having the faith that the week leading up to gun season is the exact time of year that will have bucks on their feet in daylight, regardless of other conditions, makes me focus my efforts around that 10 day window every year.

I forgot to mention the cold front in my original post. Nov 11 was also coldest day of November for me.
Coldest day of November, highest pressure in November, a rare wind for November, peak rut/breeding, and moon was also overhead in daytime (about 7am). It was definitely a recipe for increased deer movement where I was in WV.

Killed my 9 point and first deer ever 10/21. Had a really good day out in late November(27th I think) with 5 does and fawns within 20 yards, never had that many deer so close.
Bummer of a birthmark, Hal.

I had more multi-buck days this year than I have in quite a few years, and saw deer on the majority of my sits. Other than two kill days can pinpoint a best day, but good season all around for me.

My trail cams said November 18th. 7 days after the close of our archery and before our gun season. There were three distinct peak movement times according to my cameras, October 28th, November 8th and November 18th.

Oct 25 JUMPED the biggest public land buck that i know of and biggest i seen in awhile at 40 yards. What so great about that? I found a bed he uses and i know a good time fram to hunt it then scouted it to find how he leaves as well! Something like that makes it worth the effort when you start to doubt yourself.
