Most are 30 to 45 minutes one way. If I trek to my cabin its 3 hours.

Dude I hope you drive a Prius because that sounds expensive! Same state though?

lol I wish. I have a Tundra, 14.5 mpg @ 70mph. But I always carpool with at least one buddy so it's not bad splitting has. Yes same state. I generally get 3-4 weekends per season in that part of the state.

I wish I lived closer to a hunting area. Closest one is about 1.25-1.5 hours from door to parking to hunt. Furthest one I will hunt is 2.5-3 hours. This is one of the reasons I had started hunting Georgia instead of FL - a little more driving and a lot more deer.

closest is 5 min, farthest is 1 hr. I am branching out to around 1.5 hrs this year though.

90% of my drives are 1 1/4 to 1 3/4 hours one way.

FL is some tough hunting. I shot 3 FL deer in 13 years and gave it up - could shoot 'em up north and can shoot 'em in GA & SC. Just something about lack of topography, FL swamps, snakes & gators, palmetto flats, sawgrass ponds and marshes, and in the nicest possible way - redneck hunters on buggies & running dogs... that I have had trouble figuring deer out down here - gonna try the Beast techniques and see if they can turn me around.

I always said a guy who can find FL bucks can find 'em anywhere else in the world. Still feel that way.

Have a refuge an hour away on one side and 1.5 hours on the other side of the river. Have one wma an hour away...it's ridges and bluffs, then another wma that spans a huge national forest about 1.25-1.5 hours away.

I commute it each time and it gets old. I hunt quite a bit by myself so never really interested in camping overnight but might get me a camper on my truck and do that some.

I hunt stuff that is anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours from my house. The further away from my house a place is, the more amazing the sign needs to be for me to spend time scouting and hunting it. I feel really fortunate to have public land all around my home. I just love hunting all types of terrains in general. I just love hunting  I may be obsessed.

As little as a short walk out my house to 4 hrs in my home state. When I go out of state I have driven as far as 13 hrs, but that is for a week hunt.

I drive an hour to 1.5 hrs to the spots I hunt the most. It's really the area I grew up around and have the most knowledge/success at so far. Lately however, I've been scouting more and more spots within 20 mins from my house because I want areas I can get out to after work.

I hunt private right out my back door to about a 20 minute drive, also public, the closest is 20 minutes the farthest, 2 1/2 hours. Always looking for more spots though. None of the private I hunt has primary bedding, a couple have good doe bedding, so they are decent, but not great rut spots. I use them primarily to fill the freezer and hunt for bucks on the public.

30-45 minutes for private land near home.

Better quality and quantity of deer on public 4.5 and 5.5 hours away. Unfortunately, due to job duties, family obligations and other responsibilities these public land trips need to be scheduled well in advance.

I typically drive between 30 to 50mins to the best public spots. But am considering scouting out of state public, so I can hunt a few long weekends as a cheap vacation. Somewhere around 10 or so hrs away.
