Just Joined the Site...awesome stuff
Hey Guys. I have been browsing this forum for a little while and immediately new I needed to join.
I am from Indiana and want to venture into out of state public land hunting. I have a few vacation days to burn before our vacation resets Oct. 1st. I have decided to go to Missouri the last week of this month. I plan to leave Wednesday after work and stay until Sunday evening. I would like to scout Thursday morning and then hopefully start hunting Thursday afternoon. I have just started cyber scouting an area I am interested in.
I plan to take my climber with me. I know some prefer sticks and a hang on. I don't have that setup so I plan to just take my climber. My locations here are all ladder stands and chain ons that I don't want to take down.
I plan to just sleep in the truck each night and will also be taking my camera gear with me to self film.
I am looking for any advice you guys can provide me as this will be my first trip out of state to hunt somewhere else. I know what to do once I get in the tree but am looking for advice on anything from what to pack for the truck to sleep to any extras I will need for the hunt that I wouldn't use here close to home.
Exciting times!!

Take a small handsaw. I saw lots of climber trees in the hills of MO but you would have needed to cut some small-med sized branches to get up.
Good luck, have fun.

Good luck on your hunt this fall! I just joined a week ago as well and already can tell there are some great guys on here that really know what they're doing on public land and how to get a buck on the ground.

Welcome!
Good luck on your hunt! As far as stuff to bring, I would say if you are hunting a new to you area, it seems like you can never have enough maps on those types of hunts. Stay safe!

Re: Just Joined the Site...awesome stuff
I went to mo a few times last fall for my first out of state trip. Speaking from experience being some tecnu with in case you get into poison ivy. Here in Wisconsin I've always been somewhat immune to it where I would get a couple bumps but being down there and not being able to shower off right away and not having anything with me I was covered in it. Made for a long two weeks during November for my rut hunt. A good cooler that will hold ice for a few days will keep your drinks cold especially if it's got early season.

Welcome.
With a MO tag, the important thing will be having room for 2 deer coming home
Good luck and hope you have a great time.
