I recently scouted a piece of public land in hill country, and I found a ton of deer sign in a 114 acre clear cut close to a parking area. Bear season is in full swing, and couldn't get over the lack of human activity around this area. I found large tracks, and a lot of meandering trails throughout the clear cut.
In your experience, will mature bucks hold in areas during rifle season or move to higher ground.

Re: Human Sign
If there is enough cover & security to make them feel safe. Yes!
