Re: Loess Hills WMA in Iowa
I can’t give you specific information regarding that WMA having never been there, but I can say this. I go on an annual pheasant hunting trip on private ground that is spread across several farms in Woodbury county. This trip typically takes place in early November and this property is heavily hunted for pheasants from the season opener until December. In spite of this, during these trips both while hunting and driving from farm to farm, I have regularly seen deer of the quality that everyone travels to Iowa to kill and a few that are the type everyone dreams about. This is in the same zone as loess hills WMA. This zone does not get the acclaim of other zones in Iowa, but from what I’ve seen of the deer quality, I would not hesitate to hunt it.
