I see Jeff hunting from a tent in the PA Public Land Challenge. My thought has always been that it would take a while for a deer to adjust to something like that and it would stick out easily to a deer.
Does anyone have experience setting up and hunting from a tent the same day?

Re: Hunting from a Tent?
I think that's a blind he's in. And I've tried it a bunch but honestly I have wayyyyyyyy more ground encounters by just hiding behind a cedar tree or in some dead fall. Missed two bucks on the ground last year just still hunting from little bits of cover to the next.

Re: Hunting from a Tent?
Too me I would think deer would notice the irregular shape.
I wouldn't expect that too work well on public land unless a natural blind was built around it.
Someone may kill young inexperienced deer from one that are curious. I doubt many mature public bucks have been killed out of them.
What may work on a private farm with no pressure its a totally different game on pressured public.
I think he is a decent hunter and appears a nice person. I do wonder why they only were at the challenge 3 days.
