What do you do?

Unread postby monster6 » Fri Apr 26, 2013 1:55 pm

Anyone start bowfishing yet? When do you start? This will be my first year doing this and I'm interested in hearing what you guys do with your carp? Especially when you have guys shooting barrels of carp.

Smoke em' and eat them that way or use them as garden fertilizer.

I dump them in the back of my property for the animals. I usually start about now, but the water is pretty high right now. I like to shore shoot and wade. I wear dull colors so fish don't see me and stalk them.

I've got a local farmer that lets me throw them in his spreader.

The carp we shoot on the east coast are invasive, and I wouldnt be caught dead saying I ate one so we dump them to feed the foxes and whatever else likes finding fish in the middle of the woods. :D

Smoked carp is pretty good. Cut the heads off, gut them, and cut them in halves. Brine them in 1 cup of salt to one gallon of water over night. Smoke them that way. Just pretty good.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
