Lake Keesus is located just outside of the town of Merton in Waukesha county Wisconsin.
I grew up fishing on this lake a lot cause my Aunt and uncle live there. The lake has bass, bluegill, crappie, big perch, walleye, and norhern pike.
I think this lake is one of the best lakes in S.E. Wisconsin for bass and panfish. It don't get talked about a lot by fishermen so its kind of a sleeper lake that not a lot of guys know about. One of the reasons for this might be because it is over run with water skiers and a water ski club. The guys seem to be cocky and target fishermen who dare go on there lake... At least thats how it seemed to me each time I was out there. The good news is you can get onto the big bass without ever going near water skier he11.
The very best spot for big bass is "in my opinion" the 1st bay from the boat launch. You just hang a left as soon as you get on the lake. Its extremely weedy, and shallow and that scares most fishermen away.
There used to be an old guy (dead for many years now) who used to fish the openings in the weeds with a fly rod and tiny poppers and he would just slam the big bass. Being a kid without a flyrod, I would toss live whole nitecrawlers into the little openings on the weeds with no weights, and no bobber while free floating. I would either get a bite, or get hung up every cast then just pull the small boat to the snag or fish and then hit the next most likely opening... I caught a lot of big bass in there....

Here is a close up of the 1st bay with the area where I caught most of the big bass circled in red.

Walleyes were always hard for me to catch there... But you could hit it right and get a good pile of big perch at the drop off at the end of the underwater point just out from the launch ( you can see a boat fishing there in the google picture) But you need to hit it hours when water skiers are not out or they will drive you nuts.
Panfish are everywhere. The best area for big panfish is the second bay. Crappies and blugills can be located at the docks, lilly pads, or deeper depending on timeing.

The third bay can have some decent fishing too. I have done real well a few times for big crappies at the weed edge, and have caught bass and gills there too... The best area is the weedy narrow end away from the skiers.

The far end of the lake can be real good too up by the boys club. But water skiers get up there pretty bad.
In closing, you can do really good just cruising the lake edge pounding the piers also. Its a great fishing lake that gets very little attention.

I use to love fishing this lake. That 1st bay to the left is awesome bassin. Early before weeds get up I would toss a floating stick bait. 9 times outta 10 it got hot as soon as it hit water. Once the weeds got thick I'd toss weed walkers or plastic frogs. What a blast. That one point you have marked for perch/eyes(the yellow arrow pointing from B in big perch. I caught my biggest bass outta there one evening after work. 6 1/2# on a chartruesse big bass spinnerbait with nickel blade. Lol. That was like 24 yrs ago n remember like yesterday. Thanx for reminding me of this lake Dan.
