the best portable fish finder?

I'm looking for a portable fish finder that I can move from boat to kayak to canoe. I want it to have a self contained power source and a suction cup transducer. I don't need lots of fancy stuff. water temp would be nice. GPS would be nice for marking spots but I could do that with my phone. I don't like the ones that use your phone as a monitor. It's hard to see my display out doors. price range 500 and down. Any suggestions? Any that I should avoid?

A few regular customers say they love their Garmin striker 4. I believe you can get it for around $200 if I remember correctly. I don't know much about it just going by what they say

a guy at work just bought a Garmin. it was on sale at Cabelas. might want to check out the Cabelas website to see if they are still on sale.
