Pulled my first cards last week. One camera took a crap. 2 potential shooters in two different areas. Pretty good start for me!

Moved the other camera to a different area.

My scouting report is that i got at least 1 3+ y.o. on camera in an area i have scouted pretty thoroughly. I have been out of town a lot lately but this week i plan to check my other 3 cameras that have been sitting since early june.

I was out looking for a spot for a cam yesterday and found a cam already in the area. So you may have some pictures of me.

If it was hung up high with a cable lock, it was mine

I'm 1 wore out old tick bitten Lyme infested old dog tonite!!!!

Spent from 1:30 until 7:30 this evening. Setting up 2 ground and pound kill spots in the wet and muck of the marsh. I'm was hoping the predicted thunderstorms would wash away my smell from being in there. Started raining as I left the parking spot. Hope the gully washer I hit on the way home. Made it to where I did my setups!!!

Too tired to upload pics tonite. Maybe tomorrow, if I can be sure my GPS info isn't included.

Your hard work will pay off Stash!

Tonight I headed to the farm place with the run down silo and observed from the edge of their grove. GREAT night to be out. Cool... no spray or thermacell and no mosquitoes! I can see a TON of ground from this tree. Can't see the bedding quite as good as I'd like but its acceptable. I ended up seeing 22 deer, 8 bucks. SUPER happy with that. One was a 120ish 8 but he was on private. Hopefully when the corn comes out or pheasant hunters get busy he'll get pushed in to the bedding I'm set up on. A couple bucks were average two year olds in the 90-100" range.

I'm glad I didn't sell my camera arm from my filming days. Worked awesome with the spotting scope and fluid head.

I shined the 3 sides of the section afterwards and only saw 1 spiker and a doe and fawn. Then I got to the North end  BIG BUCK!! I'm talking shooter in Iowa day 1 of your rutcation  He wasn't all that wide, maybe 16... but his twos and threes were 9" plus and his fours were 6". Nice brows average mature buck mass. Definitely in the 140's and could easily be bigger. He was on private but just a tick over 1/2 mile from two different bedding areas where I've got sets prepped. If you guys remember the bed with the 5-6" diameter multi-year rub in it that I posted about earlier... that's one of them. The other one I set up with Dad... its all his. There were 3.5 finger tracks in the one I'll be hunting this spring. I went back and checked the road and bean field edge :shifty: for his tracks but no luck.

Shining was poor other than him but I'll take quality over quantity every time.

This officially pushed me over the edge. I'm feeling crazy in a killer kind of way.
