Dang. I was just logging in confirm that I was "given permission" to go on the scout this coming Saturday.

For what it's worth, I live up in RW and we received 4-5" overnight as you mentioned. It was 28F and partly sunny much of the afternoon. Much of the snow is already melting. It's going to be mostly sunny and periodically above freezing this week. It may not be clear by Saturday but it won't be as bad as it was early this AM. I can keep you posted if desired. I'll be driving through that area Thurs and Fri.

For me, I don't want to do a workshop or a personal scout unless I am sure its a win for everyone... I would feel bad if we got up there and everything was covered with snow and there were no deer tracks in sight... Same reason I turn down scouting some properties every year... Around here only about one in 10 properties would be worth my time to scout because only those hold the deer im after. Often others choose a property to scout that would NOT be on my list.
I want people to see great examples, and learn the things they came to learn so we all leave happy, and I can sleep at night... Kind of the same reason I don't push sponsored products down your throats. ;)

Thanks for the update. It's dans call if it's a go or no go. Maybe he can respond.

Scout or no-scout, it's not too big of a deal to me. There's always next year. I hope to be out somewhere regardless, but I can understand the desire to postpone it and wait for optimal conditions to make it the most impactful.

:angry-screaming: My boys and I are bumming for sure but definetly understand. We'll just do it another time. No worries Dan and Jeff for cancelling, I think you made the right call.

We will try very hard to make it happen next spring. There are very good examples which I am looking forward to sharing with fellow beasts.

A good call...wanted so badly to be there, short on $$$$ right now. I'll stash a little for next year even if I have to cross the border. I've been out quite a few times in the last month (very close to Jeff's place) and I have fallen multiple times every scout because snow on top of mud over frozen, steep hills = dirty pants. Thanks for the opportunity though Dan + Jeff :handgestures-thumbup:

I walked it once last year and have confirmed it holds some decent bucks. Who is interested? We will work out a meeting place and time shortly. Cost will be $150. We are trying to arrange a meal at a local tavern afterwords, probably pizza.

Will you ever hold one closer to Alabama? I would love to come to one.
