Careful with that. You will most likely end up having to pay for the drone. Already several court cases tried where the person shooting down the drone lost. Most cases, in fact.
Go where none other dare to go, and there you'll find success.

Re: Drone scouting
I used these for scouting for a couple years, mainly to see what was happening on the other side of the fence where I couldn’t get boots on the ground. Actually think this is one of the first things I talked about when I joined the beast. Since that time I have became more educated and heard valid arguments so I no longer take part in this practice. With technology at a all time high and hunters constantly wanting a easier and faster way to get horns on the wall allowing these drones into the hunting world opens up some serious concerns and makes shortcuts and cheating that much easier. I don’t frown on anyone who uses these for strictly post season scouting I mean I did it. But ask yourself some honest questions about why u feel u really need a drone in the first place and I think u will make the right decision.
Life is hard; It’s even harder if you are stupid.

If I have one buzzing around me for more than a few seconds I would hope that would fall under the Hunter Harassment law. Thankfully I have never seen one in the sky around here yet.
For all I know it could be fully armed and I am just protecting myself.

Re: Drone scouting
I have a drone and honestly it's just not worth messing with for scouting IMO. The batteries don't last that long and you're not gaining more info than what a good aerial will show you. Only exception is maybe getting a better view of cover types with snow on but other than that it's boots on the ground for me. I like to hike anyways and it keeps me in shape

Actually it falls under FAA as an aircraft ie federal crime.
As crazy as that seems you could face same penalties for shooting a drone as you would for shooting at a passenger aircraft
