I'm looking to pick up a few more cams and was wondering what trail cams guys are running late season Dec/Jan. I'm looking for cams that will perform in below freezing temps and even below 0 like we just had.

I had 2 Moultrie M-80s and a C-80. One of my M-80s grew legs a couple years ago, one stopped working as I pulled it out of the garage yesterday to put batteries to get it ready to go this weekend and it wont turn on with new batteries. Now I'm down to my C-80 which I've had mixed success once it gets close to 0. Sometimes it shuts off even with Lithium batteries.

I want something I can set up and leave up for a couple weeks if need be and not have to worry about it just randomly shutting off once it gets around 0. I'd rather not spend more than 150 on a cam the cheaper the better as they are going up on public. I just need IR and a decent detection range and cold weather performance.

I've been adding a few Coverts and Browning cameras to my collection recently. They perform very well in the cold and battery life is also good.

I bought several Moultrie M40i and have been very pleased with picture quality, detection range, detection time, nighttime IR flash range is spectacular, battery life very good etc
For what that camera cost it is well worth far more! Can be had on the cheap from ebay 2 year warranty too

my multree run all year round and never leave the woods I use the red Duracell batteries and change them once a year the batteries don't freeze so they keep going

Only advice I can give from a very cold climate is only use lithium batteries and from personal experience don't leave any Moultrie camera's out in cold temps I have permanent damage on my m-80s from from -20

Those red duracells are great batteries!

I just ordered two stealthcams from midway they are 100 dollor cams that were price droped to 60 they come with duracell batteries and sd cards ill let you guys know if they work

I use SPYPOINT trail cams but if you want a camera to work in subzero temps, make sure to use lithium’s! I pulled mine 10 days ago and it took a pic of me when it was negative 27 degrees.

that's pretty darn cold I think I've only got to hunt temps like that 3 or 4 times and that was in 90s

I wasn’t hunting at the time. Just pulling my last camera. But this season I did hunt in 20 below.

I have a Covert I leave out in frigid temps for weeks on end with zero issues.

Can’t remember the model but I got it for about $100 bucks at A local store.

Just checked a couple of my Covert MP8 today, still getting pics with sub zero temps using rechargeable batteries. Been testing them for two years now and like the performance so far. I put them out last July. I read somewhere that they work better than alkaline in colder temps.
