6-8 hours is reasonable. Past that i think I'd rather just make an extended hunting trip and forego the scouting trip

Depends. I have driven 4-5 hours one way for a weekend scout in WI and also out of state more times than I can count and that’s no big deal. I guess I would drive much further if needed but would take a week or so to make it worthwhile.

2 hours furthest I’ve driven to scout out of state. I’ve been wanting to go further about 4-5 hours to some hills. Hopefully it happens this winter/spring.

Re: How far will you go for an out of state scout?
6 hours. And I would plan to stay at least a couple days for that distance and scout multiple areas.
For a day trip to one spot I would go 2-3 hours for the right spot, right conditions, but would want to arrive shortly after daybreak.
I hunt mostly large big woods tracts so I need to cover a lot of ground. If it was farm land or an easier place to scout then these times would surely change.

Some do. Some don't. I just might...

16hrs, used to go to ks every spring. Would scout/knock on doors for couple days and head back. Just went almost 9hrs. Left Wednesday night, scouted Thursday and Friday, headed back Friday night.
