Sad. Just sicking.

Unread postby A5BLASTER » Sun Oct 25, 2020 5:54 am

So first day of gun season hits today on my primary wma I hunt. Been waiting for today and a good cool north wind too do some scouting of a area I'm been hunting observation sits on since bow opener.

Huge oak flat surrounded by pine thickets and bordered by a bayou on the south and clear cuts to the north.

This area has seen a drastic change this year with all the clear cutting around it, 2 hurricanes knocking down scores of prime oaks and a absolute swine infestation has descended down upon it.

Walked every sqaure inch of it today, trying to nail down what is going on with the deer this year.

Pics tell it all this is the only for sure deer sign in 612 acres.

Guess it's time too move on from this area for the rest of the season and head for one of the other wma's I hunt.

Sad too this area is normal alive with deer and several good bucks use its prime bedding every year.

So, did you hunt there or get another spot. Next year might be really good.

I believe some spots can hold big bucks without a lot of big buck sign.
