Piece of Public Land
This public land spot I hunt is almost 100% mixed growth timber. There is mast like a carpet. Any suggestions on some scount spots would be great.

Welcome to the BEAST Tek4life
I marked in bright green what would be of most interest for me to walk when scouting this place... I based it on elevation and terrain. I marked in blue areas where I would expect to see a buck bed. For me, any hunting outside of the short rut window is done very close to the bucks bedding area to catch him in daylight.

Thanks Dan,
I feel better getting ready to go scout since I can only get there less than once a month. The northern line you marked was an area I though of after watching the hill country dvd. Its a really steep drop off less than 30 yards from the road just off a main hunter trail. The southern area you marked I've seen does staging in the evening getting ready to move towards the crop fields.
