How should I attack this public land?

How should I go about scouting this land? I am going to go scout it this weekend and I am going to hit the swamps first. How should I go about that? Is there anywhere else I should be looking? The red line is the public land boundaries and the black lines are driveable rodes. THe black dotted lines are closed roads that you can walk on but they do not allow any motorized vehicles. The train track is abonded and you can also walk down it. There is a lot of water entry on this land and I plan to get a conoe or little flat bottom before hunting season also.
