Topo Help

Unread postby mibowhunter » Tue Jun 27, 2017 5:59 am

I recently was invited to hunt a new property in Wisconsin, but I won't be able to get any boots on the ground until hunting it this fall. So I was wondering if anybody would be willing to take a look at the topo map and give me some pointers - it'd be for a rut hunt most likely, however I'm not ruling out an early season hunt either if I can make it back. Pressure is pretty high from what I understand, and the terrain is mixed - lowlands/swamp, and oaks/hardwoods on the higher ridges (I'm hesitant to post an aerial)... The red lines represent roads, and people can park anywhere along them. The entire map is about 2 miles x 2 miles.

Thanks!

From my reading here I would study the swamp area. Since high pressure would tend to send them there.

post your too/arial and we can help.

If you have a combo of marsh/swamp and hill country, the big bucks will take the preferred bedding of the hills over the swamp/marsh.

Way more secure for them to survive.
