Help with new 50 acres

Unread postby pssrll1117 » Thu Nov 02, 2017 7:10 am

Good afternoon

Bought 50 acres earlier in the year and wanted to get some opinions on potential buck beds. The acreage is field overgrowth from 30-40 years ago with 15 acres of hardwood (mainly hickory and maple) to north. It is surrounded by ag fields (typically corn or soybeans). This year the southern field is cabbage but typically that doesn't get planted.

I included 4 pics and a summary of each below . My goal is to ID potential buck and doe bed locations before future paths and trails are made. I want to maximize current patterns and minimize changes. I will probably mainly set up to observe this season from 2 stands and hunt my other property. Don't be deceived by pics. This is extremely thick and dense. Almost like a swamp. As flat as terrain gets with dark soil that stays moist on NW edge, and whole area gets really wet after days of rain. Fortunately, drainage ditches will dry it out relatively quick

- Property view (Winter): I boxed my property with white lines
- Property North: Slightly zoomed in look at hardwoods and ag field (corn this year)
-Property South: Slightly zoomed in look and ag field (cabbage this year)
Property Summer: Just a full green view
