Austrian Winter Peas

Unread postby cspot » Tue Aug 06, 2019 12:36 pm

Since there is in the forecast for midweek I put in the winter peas tonight. Ground was pretty dry and hard, but the tiller did a pretty decent job. Didn't spray this plot at all. Just tilled. Never planted straight peas before but decided to give it a whirl. Plot is about 1/3 acre.

When do the peas come in and when do the deer start hitting them?

I am fixing to find out. Anxious to see myself as I have never planted them before. From what I have heard they tend to hit them from mid-October until they are gone.

Ah, well, I wish you the best of luck with them! I’ll be interested to hear how the experiment turns out!
