Urea and crop oil

Is a crop oil necessary if I intend on spreading urea, or are they used for two completely different purposes?

Yes, but I never worried about using crop oil unless it already comes pre mixed. See the directions on how much to mix if you are going to use it. I don't use chlethodim either. I have never needed it. Glyphoste has always been all I needed.

Read the label on the herbicide you are using. Normally you use spray grade ams in water first to condition water for round up and some other herbicides. 1-3 lbs to the acre depending on how much water spraying per acre. Then surfactant then herbicide. There is a mixing order on label and tells you which surfactant to use for that herbicide. There are quite a few different ones. Nis, crop oil, mso etc.

But for food plots and yard I wouldn't worry too much about adding surfactants. Just get a faster better kill using them. Some are pretty expensive also.

No. Crop oil is for the herbicide to increase it's effectiveness.

Crop oil is an oily subtance to help the herbicide stick to weeds for a better burn down. Crop oil isnt needed just helps it stick. Urea is a dry pelleted fertilizer. I just spread urea on about 2500 acres of corn.
