Last day to hunt bear is on the 7th. I've only been out twice. Once at my guides site and once at my site . Phlegm kept building up in the back of my throat and I had to muffle my cough every 30 min. Smoking cigs don't help. I got this email from my guide today, he has no daytime pics of bears so far. Here is what he emailed me ,"Hey John, i just got back from baiting. It wasnt hit and the worst news is that they started logging down by the bait. They were nice enough not to drive over it but there are no trees really around it to sit in. I baited it but took the camera down cuz i didnt want it to get destroyed.". I hope to bait tommorrow , throw out a lot of good scent at my spot and hunt it mon or tue or both. Hoping most bear hunters around have stopped baiting and mine is a rare bait left. I'm hoping to shoot my only bear Image

I hope to get my 3rd bear hunt in sometime these next 2 days. I wish I was hunting sept 30th, my only daytime pic so far since sept 2nd. My guides bait is dead (logging) he has no back up bait sites for me. I went checked my cam today. The camera obviously had been messed by this bear.ImageImageImage and my only daytime pic after he swatted the camImageImage

No bear for me this season. Hunted the last 2 afternoons of season at my spot instead of my guides. Nothin. But there was a lot of human activity lately close by (duck hunters). I hope to draw another tag for 2016 or 17. My spot this year has decent bedding but it's not very remote. Next time I wanna go alittle deeper/remote and find a couple dark swampy areas with obstacles. Now on to deer and squirrels.

That seems to be par for the course in zone C. Not that I care, but if you go to zone A , a chance at a bear is all but a promise. I have had 4 bears shot at our camp with 5 tags. In 2005 I passed on a little bear. My brothers bear was only 68 lbs and my first bear was 80 lbs. but it was a legal bear. Don't laugh,,,, guys,, there are a ton of bears registered tha are under 100 lbs. gutted and 1/5 are in the 50-80 lbs range. My other bear was 224 lbs and my sons was 206 lbs gutted.
