Boy that's real tempting. I'll have to think hard about this one.

Really, really appreciate the offer.

Just a little teaser for you all. We recorded an awesome podcast with Mike Foss last night. We talked about some very in depth Bear tactics as well as some bear hunting stories of Mike's. I'll share the episode on here when it's released in a couple weeks.

In the meantime we'll have a couple other episodes dropping, including one about MN Bear Hunting with Bernie Barringer, another user on this forum next week.

We've got another episode uploaded that you guys will probably enjoy. This podcast is with another user of the Beast, Bernie Barringer. You can listen to the episode on the link below as well as iTunes(iPhone) and Google Play (Android):

On this episode we talk with Bernie Barringer about hunting tactics for hunting Big Minnesota Bears! This episode talks about bear tags in Minnesota, what role natural foods play, hazelnuts, where to set up a bait site, bears need for water, what bait holds the bears on the bait best, bait quantity, Bernie's best hunting MN hunting story, and much more.

I liked Dan's and Bernie's interviews. As a guide it's always cool to hear how different everyone's ideas are. Especially on bait, location and scent. After 20 plus years even I can pick up a few things and scoff at a few.

Yea.. You really get some things burnt into your mindset when you just hunt on your own. Some of the best learning experiences I have had were hunting with good reputable guides or bear hunters from outside my circle. Brad Kunart and Mike foss are two that ring a bell. An open mind is great thing... 2 different bears hunters will likely never agree on everything, but they both could probably learn a small trick or two from each other.

It's funny/interesting as the host of the podcast to interview very accomplished and well known bear hunters and see how much they all vary in their opinions/tactics. Actually if you listen to my interviews with Dan, Bernie Barringer, Richard P Smith, and Clay Newcomb (Editor/Owner of Bear Hunting Magazine) I'm pretty sure between all 4 of them they contradict each other on just about every core theory on Bear Hunting over bait. Throw Mike Foss's interview which hasn't been released yet into the mix and it's even worse.
