Black Bear. Round two.

Unread postby Ravenhunter » Thu Jun 08, 2017 11:11 am

Back in a treestand bear hunting in Quebec this time. Always come here first week of June with my wife and kids so why not hunt a few evenings. On stand now for my second sit. First night nothing came in until late at night. Bait was topped up yesterday but I elected to fish for walleye instead of hunt. No bears have hit the bait in 36 hours so hoping tonight's the night. I have seen some big rabbits on my site but no bears.

Nice bear came in and busted me drawing. Then a smaller bear came in huffing and acting all tough but never present me a shot. Tomorrow is it.

Love checking trail cameras to see a monster was here wed am at 830. Guess I should have skipped breakfast and hunted. Oh well. Baits freshened. Did another honey burn. Bring on the bruins.

Looks like the big bears I had on trail camera were the ones I couldn't get a shot at. Time stamp am/pm were reversed. Sitting this am for my last kick at the can. Had a small bear in and out of the site all night. Could have shot him multiple times but just not what I'm after.

Time ended in Quebec. Burned a $190 tag. Had multiple chances to shoot a 150lb just not what I was after. Fall season starts in mid August. I'm already making plans for a third round of bear hunting.
