Re: 2017 Ursus Americanus
Had Raccoons @ the bait pile, deer blowing @ me for 20 minutes and a bad trip back down the Mtn...
Rolled my buddies ATV on top of me with minor bruises and cuts. Could have been a real bad situation, but thank God I live a clean life... Well kind of...
The Browning BAR took some dings, ATV seems OK.
Landed on the gun and now have Leupold tattooed on my back.
It was a steep 30 degree washed out Skidded path with large rocks everywhere.
Showered, rained & poured the past two days and my taint is soggy...
Baiting again on Saturday to freshen it up.
Will hunt a week from Thursday on the 14th to 17th.
Deer archery season opens the 15th as well

Re: 2017 Ursus Americanus
Not so good outlook...
But Heck, is there ever a good outlook, don't matter - just do it!
My Buddy went up Saturday to bait & sit for the evening.
He has never seen the bait pile so he is unsure of what was eaten, we did discuss, and came to the conclusion that the blue seal wildlife feed was completely soggy and is useless.
Although it looked like the actual people food scraps was cleaned up, I was surprised they didn't eat any the ripe Peaches - Oh Well...
Darn SD card crapped out, so no visual recon - unfortunately...
He dumped two more 5-gallon buckets of people food scraps, & sat, not a single thing stirred from 2-7:39.
He mentioned the wind was perfect and steady...
I'm heading up the 15th for the deer Archery opener and to give another try on the Bear.
I'm gonna try and get some corn as it appears the Bear has hit the small corn field about 3/4 mile away.
I'll also drop 35-gallons of apples and 2-more scrap buckets and check the new SD card, hopefully with some type of visual(s) this time...
I have never done the archery opener @ camp, so a nice 3-day weekend might be exciting!

Re: 2017 Ursus Americanus
Picking up my ATV from the repair.
The stick cracked my valve cover, so new cover, seal and qt of oil & back in business!
Have 35-gallons of apples and 10-gallons of people scraps from a restaurant to freshen up the site...
Leaving mid-morning tomorrow with archery opener for Deer as well.
So the pistola' & bow will be in tow.
