Sorry guys just got out of the woods and I am to tired to post, but will tell you there are a few down, we have to track a bear we call Bed Maker "he covers the bait with grass and sleeps on it" that is over 500 pounds. Dewey my friend the hunter that was put on your stand "Sand River" did not shoot a bear but there wasn't 20 minutes that went by that he wasn't watching bears, he was there a 9am and had bears all around him all day, the biggest one he thought was around 200lbs. Later boys, shower and off to bed. Our wounded Warrior shot a nice 220lb boar with a huge white blaze.

This is one of the bears that was a no show last night but if the hunter has patients he has a good chance, he was there at the bait on Monday a 6:00.

I cannot tress to these hunters enough that they have to have patients and if you don't have the shot don't take it or wait it out and calm down, those bears are there to feed, if they leave chances are they are just checking things out and will be back, don't force the shot.

I have to add that it just was a tad to warm out 84.... imagine slipping on a sleeping bag and wearing it all day long :angry-fire:

Good stuff.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

The weather is killing us and so is the missed shots etc. When it comes to bear hunting you have to have an extreme amount of patience, eventually the bear will come to you...don't think you have to go "Stand Chasing".

A 13 year old shot a nice 167lb dropped it on the bait, was hunting on the ground, only natural foliage for cover, very proud of him.

In the video a bear sees the hunters movement and the hunter panics thinking the bear is going to bolt, hunter shoots bear head on "not recommended" bear is recovered 30 yards away.

Head shot = Pissed off Bear if not lucky enough to be lethal...

Cool video of how it shows the speed of a Bear real well, way more nimble than most can imagine...
