As you can see I lowered my standards a little but I am happy to have a bear this year.

I didn't weigh it but I think it's about 200-220. Not one of the giants but at this point I'm happy with it!

Re: Bear hunt 2019 VLOG
I have a confession to make, there are several people on this site who have a lot of experience with bears and I suspect they are really analyzing this bear so here goes.
When I went to the stand I had one bear in mind which I figured was the most likely bear I would see and he was about a 225-250 pound male which I had passed before. I decided if he came in I would definitely shoot him. As I said in the video, I was ready to close this season out. When the bear appeared in the thick bushes, I though to myself "okay here he comes" and I knew I was going to shoot him. From that moment on, I was just totally focused on getting drawn and getting a good shot off, never really taking my eyes off his vitals.
When I walked up to the bear, there was some ground shrinkage. I tend to underestimate the size of them on trail camera and overestimate the size in person anyway. This bear was only about 200 pounds. After shooting the video close, we rolled him into the sled and suddenly I was looking at a sow! Now it made sense to me, I had actually not shot the bear I thought I was shooting.
So for those of you who are thinking, he keeps referring to it as a boar, but it kinda looks like a sow, you are right. This is my 30th bear with a bow and I am still learning. The heart-pounding, adrenaline-dumping excitement of having a bear I'm going to shoot right in front of me can still cloud my thinking, but that's part of what keeps me coming back I guess.
There you have it. My conscious is clear. :)

Awesome bear I might critique some, push a little and I'm extremely meticulous when it comes to anything with hunting (how to) bears, but I will never look down upon another hunters success or not. You put in your time, you had a great hunt and adventure in Minnesota. I've always said, it not the size of the animal, its the experience of the hunt. You've done well Pilgrim! Thank you for sharing your hunt

I’ve never cared for people’s complaints about what other hunters shot. If the hunter is happy and pumped, who cares!
I shot one last weekend that dressed at a 100 pounds and I was happy had and I’ve shot a lot of bears myself.

Congratulations. That is a well earned bear. Starting at the beginning of baiting that is about a month. That’s persistence paid off. Enjoy the moment you deserve it!
