About time someone starts a local state bear hunting thread on here. Thanks for sharing. Minnesota and Wisconsin are so different in there laws. I am curious, as I will be drawing a tag probably next year, can you tell us about ATVs on open to the public areas like the one your in, I seen it was gated and with a orange sign and what are the laws when it comes to cutting timber, shooting lanes etc. How far away from the bait station can you post the info bait site sign? When do you set your tree stand? Thanks for your time.

Good questions. I videoed the sign by the locked gate so you can see that it is open to ATV's. That particular one is county land. Cutting trees on state and federal land may be restricted but I have never run into a problem cutting a couple small popples. On state land, you can only use an ATV to recover your bear, not for baiting. Many places you can drive a truck anywhere there are forest roads.

Three shooter bears on this one bait, the others are pretty slow. The one is a really big bear I hope he shows himself in the daylight.

This bait site just had too many bad things going on so it was time to drop it and start a new one.

THis is the one which hasn't been hit yet. It also has a dead skunk laying about 100 yards from the bait. Not sure how that happened, but it makes sense to just walk away.

I know there are some people on this site with quite a bit of experience with bears, I would like to hear from you how big this scarfaced old boar is. What are your guesses? I have a number in mind, and maybe I can put him on a scale in a week or so. Let's hear your opinions.

Before I give you a answer on the age, how far is the nearest town, farm fields and crops if there is any? or is this just a big woods bear.
