Well my first time out today. Cold & windy. I heard/saw nothing & i'm guessing nothing heard me either. I still have time...things have got to get better!

I went out for an afternoon hunt. Very windy again! Saw 2 hens. It's the 5th season this year here on public. The birds seem very call shy. I stopped on the road to glass a hen at probably 600 yards. I rolled down the window and she scooted out of there like her tail was on fire.

Well, I had an exciting morning! I heard my first gobbling of the season. I had one coming in off the top of a ridge. It got to about 100 yards and just gobbled for an hour straight. I never did get eyes on it. A hen came by at 20 yards, but the tom didn't follow. The tom was heading to a field behind me so I crawled out, and he's was out there about 100 yards. I tried to close the distance, but he must have seem me and ducked back into the woods. Overall an exciting adventure!

Well guys, I'm sorry i couldn't seal the deal on a big tom! I got close, but just couldn't make it happen. The weather definitely didn't help me out throughout the week. Thanks to Burk, for making a great call and getting this whole thing started! I am honored to be a part of such a cool idea. Here's a final picture before it heads to Dan.

Never looked in on this one until now!!! Very, very cool!!! Great job guys and gals!!

How about a Hunting Beast cap for the deer hunt. Spray it down good with permethrin and nobody will get any cooties!!!!!!

We could all pitch in to buy it! But we need to decide quick!!!
