That old wagon wheel is cool. I remember the days of no kids and endless hours of hunt time. Congrats.

The northern kettle moraine has some of the best turkey habitat and hunting in the state. Wensday morning I heard at least 5-6 toms on the roost all with in a square mile...the kettle is 28,000 acres! Just imagine how many birds are really out there!

While scouting for deer I run into them pretty much everywhere in KM. I agree there are a huge amount of birds. I don't turkey hunt much anymore but when I did even a beginner rookie like me had no problem getting on birds. Killing them was a different story. Bow was my only option I ever considered. I will accomplish that someday when I have some free vacation time and can spend more time with it.

Oh yeah.........in KM the habitat is also perfect for deer ticks. They outnumber turkey by 1,000,000 to 1. Honestly the worst I have seen anywhere. Better load up on the permethrin.
