Re: 2018 Spring Draw Results
I don't know anyone that got 1st or 2nd in zone 1. Which out of 12 plus people with a couple different groups it seemed odd. One group has gotten 1st period over 10years in a row. Idk i got 3rd with the rest of them
I seen that you can have a group of like 10 now not just 4

Agreed. Very odd. I don't think the lottery is over. I reviewed some threads from last year and it looks like it took some time last year as well.

Re: 2018 Spring Draw Results
About 10+ years ago i forgot to apply for the WI tag before the deadline. Since then I've purposely "forgotten" to apply every year and have relied on late season left over tag(s). As much as I want to get out in the April spring woods, my preffered time frame to hunt turkeys is now mid/late season hands down.

Re: 2018 Spring Draw Results
I've heard the increase in turkey tags sold had alot to do with no age law. I noticed they increased group to 10 people, as well just not sure when. Bear and sturgeon stayed at 4 people max groups. The increase in sales lead to more people not getting times or even tags. They are expecting the no age law to increase the years it takes to draw a bear permit as well.
It looks to me like similar number of leftover tags though.

Isn't bear already a long wait to begin with?
They should just shoot more bears. Then everybody wins, except the bears

Hope your kidding. That’s exactly how the deer herd got so screwed up. Wisconsin’s bear hunt is one of the bright spots in our management right now. I would hate to see that change even if it means waiting longer for a tag.
