Nearest wild pig state fron wisconsin

Unread postby TylerSitar » Sun Nov 25, 2018 11:37 am

I really want to hunt a wild pig, but I'm fairly sure we eliminated them from Wisconsin. What is the nearest state I can head to that has wild pigs? I know Texas and Florida have bigpopulations, but I'm hoping to cut down on the distance.

I know Oklahoma is not that much closer than Texas but its still doable if you're wanting to travel some. Eastern part of the state has alot of WMAs with pigs. I've seen several Sounders while hunting for deer or turkey. You don't need a specific tag for it but you do need a nonresident license and can only hunt it with whatever means is in season for big game at the time.

Texas has pigs but not a ton of public land. Oklahoma has a ton of pigs and a lot more public land. Both states you can buy a hunt for a fair price if you want. LA also has good pic numbers.

There are hogs in a several wmas in west Tennessee, along the Mississippi River. The hogs move through the bottoms in packs of 30-50 most times I've seen them.
Be original and Enjoy every step along the adventure.
