Not yet...It's on my bucket list to try goose hunting. Don't know anyone that does and I do not know where to start....

I don't know about the opener but I plan to make it out this week(end). Hoping to pick up my Federal stamp tomorrow. I'd like to have about 10 lbs of goose jerky in the freezer by the end of next month. The liberal early season bag limits are awesome

Yum.. Goose jerky. Thats our plan too Bass. They changed our season a bit this year. Our early season runs till Sept 25th n we can kill 5 a day. Im hoping to stock the freezer well.

Re: Michigan goose opener !!
Opened here yesterday as well. I love to goose hunt but don't have the decoys, usually go with a buddy. Was driving into work yesterday, geese were circling a corn field so I knew guys were in there, they started to cup in, just coming in so beautifully and perfectly. They got directly over the shooters, they popped up and.... missed every one of the geese There was a cop behind me and I watched him just shake his head in disappointment

Re: Michigan goose opener !!
There are a ton of geese in southern mi. I did a observation sit last September and had a big flock land in a field I was watching. I was thinking I should be goose hunting. I ended up only seeing one doe that night. I think all the noise they make kept the bucks in the woods
