Scrape Tree

Unread postby OHBB24 » Tue Aug 22, 2017 6:01 pm

Sorry for the reference of treecoy but has anyone experimented with dropping a small tree into a empty food plot with a licking branch aimed toward a stand? I know there was a fake tree coined treecoy marketed by Drurys, I've seen Bartylla do it and the MW whitetail had a video using on. I'm trying to up my odds and wonder if anyone has seen success on private with tactic...

I have had really good success with them. I cut down small beech trees that have a lot of branches and plant one in all of my openings. There are usually multiple scrapes under each branch at every one.

I think it depends on where you put it. I tried one this year behind my place and got 1 picture of two bucks giving it a sniff and never saw them again. All I ever see are does during daylight and if I do see a buck it is in the middle of the night. Granted this is 75 yards from my bedroom window...
