Very nice work on the head. One of these years I gotta give it a go.
Congrats!

Re: My feeble attempts of taxidermy
That ain't bad at all! I have actually been looking into learning this myself. After dropping off two bucks to the taxi this season and looking at an $800 bill I have decided that I am going to learn and do my own. My hunting buddy used to own a taxidermy shop and has offered to teach me so I really have nothing to lose. With all the online resources there's no reason not to try it. I have a pretty good eye for detail and I consider myself a DIY type of person anyways so I'm excited to give it a try!

I just emailed Tarheel Cape & Hide about that. $70 for a cape fully prepped and tanned. That's fleshing/lip/ear turning as well.

Here is one I found the other day. They have a pricelist. Not sure all they offer.

Re: My feeble attempts of taxidermy
Thanks guys, going t look into it. The one Oldrank posted also notes they will tan scrotums... just in case anyone is looking!
Would love to commit to trying to do the tan myself, but what OR described as the process seems a little more than I can commit to right now. My wife is also getting a little sick of deer processing and euro mounts for the year. Five euros down and two deer done in the garage/kitchen, she probably deserves a break.
I do have a coyote I'm going to try tanning myself in spring.

Looks sweet! Lots of similarities in some of those racks!
