Antler touch up.

Unread postby Kane0928 » Mon Dec 25, 2017 11:14 am

What do you all use to bring back some glow to faded horns or give a darker look. I'm looking for ideas on a latest project. I'm aware antlers are a touchy project and wanting some advice or even horror stories and what to avoid. Thanks for the advice in advance.

Use black walnut wood stain on a rag. Just a little and wipe on, them wipe off. Been using it for years for customers racks.

Is this something you buy or actually make. If it's store bought is any fine or a specific brand has best result?

I bought a touch up stain marker the same color at home depot. They are in the stain section. I touched the antlers when boiling w bleach in a couple small spots when cleaning the skull and it worked great.
