My name is Aaron, i would like to share with you my hunting story for 2017. This New Hampshire youth weekend (October 21 and 22) i went hunting with my brother in law Abe. He brought me to one of his good hunting spots. Abe felt like it was a good morning to go into this spot. as he thought we got settled in and not long after a doe was walking into range. It was about 25 yards away and i took the shot. We stand up and hi five. Then we go down to where i shot to see if there was any blood. It was a gut shot. I saw the deer again standing through some brush. I took another shot with the good old 1894 44 lever action hit her in the neck, she dropped and kicks around for about 5 minutes. We walk over to her and Abe said to make sure put another bullet in the vitals. The entrance hole was probably at least 1.5 inches wide. The doe i shot weighed about 130 pounds i took her with a 240 grain hollow point and that did the job. We got this deer register and set to go to the butcher. this was a great morning hunt.
While the night hunt was also a great hunt. For my brother Isaac hunting with his model 99 300 savage. Also with my brother in law Abe too. Abe brings Isaac to another spot in in the same town. Isaac had some trouble his front sight fell out. So they put it where they thought about where it was. Isaac spotted a doe about 45 yards away. He shoots 5 shots the deer just keeps starring at him. He finds 4 more bullets in his pocket. Isaac reloads. He shoots those 4 shots. Then the deer runs off they go look to see if there is any blood. Abe thought he saw one little drop of blood not even knowing if that was blood. They come home happy that they had some action but sad because they don't know if Isaac killed it. The next morning they go look for it. Then they spot it and the deer ran about 100 yards from where Isaac shot it. Isaac shot the deer with 150 grain flat nose bullet. Thank you Abe
