Just listened to it-good podcast. The DHP guys do a pretty good job. That late doe season in WI is mind-numbingly stupid by the sounds of it.

Thanks Dan.
I found their podcast from the Down South top 10 hunting podcast episode, and just really like this one.

They are good down to earth guys. Funny little side note. Most podcasts that call me, will call up and shoot the bull a little while then say "you ready to go on air?" Keven just called and started talking immediately and I was venting about Wisconsins does seasons and such, and did not realize we were on the air till we started actually talking about late season tactics.

Dan not to take away from your podcast and late season tactics
you filled in the missing items about hunting late season great podcast
I'm a little puzzled about why your state is wanting to reduce the deer herds for political reasons other than CWD
it might of been air out on this forum before not sure where to look for it or could you give a quick why they are persistent to reduce the deer heard
I'm not surprised how DNR does things politically
we had the same issue for the Atlantic Salmon program, they would release smolts and when they would migrate
90% of them would get churned up in a turbine on their travels to the ocean
when they were confronted about this their answer and arrogance was we didn't know what we were talking about
the end result the program failed and the Atlantic Salmon is endangered

It started with the Doyal administration, there is a lot of chatter that he was getting kickbacks from the auto insurance companies, which he denied. However, when his term ended the Auto insurance industry gave him a big fat cushy do nothing job, and he is set for life. There could be more... Farm collation?
Anywho, Governors, and I don't care if there Republican or Democrat, should not be in charge of our DNR. That should be a sole position voted in by the people of the state. That way, politics would not play as much of a role. Its just like wolves... Democrats are in office and there endangered, Republicans, and there over populated and need to be killed. I would rather see someone whose intentions are for whats in the best interest of the people and the wildlife, rather than someone worried about his pocket book or what his party wants him to do.

Re: Late season podcast with Dan Infalt
Car insurance companies i believe have huge influences on deer seasons and bag limits and things that if the normal hunter found out he would go nutts
New jersey was very influenced by the insurance companies. For years and im sure still is. I know for a fact i had a buddy on the fish and game council. Good dude too. But he would show and tell me shady crap going on every year it all comes down to whos gonna fill who’s hand first. The people should be in charge of these things should be knowledgeable people who know what they are doing and also have not one thing to gain by doing it
But this country sadly has so many idiots running it and doing the same thing in different branches of the government. Its really scary. Im scared for my kids futures

Re: Late season podcast with Dan Infalt
Thanks Dan for your revelation very Interesting
not surprised an outside interest is influencing policy
just didn't think the auto insurance was the one
here it's more the tree huggers that influence policy
they stopped beaver trapping in Mass
a few years later the beavers flooded all the low laying areas of all the cities
indirect justice for messing with mother nature

Sad to say it's been going on along time and has no signs of stopping.
