I will be going up around the lutsen area for a wedding around Oct. Ive never fished in MN before and didnt know if thw walleyes or anything would be bitting? I would be fishing from the shore. Any baits you recommend or any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Fall is a great time for a good walleye bite but you have to move around to find the fish so fishing off shore might be a challenge but it is better than sitting on the couch.

I haven't fished in that area but you should be able to find some eyes. Check out MN dnr lakefinder website it has lake maps and many lakes have a lake summary with stocking or test netting information.
It only takes 15 seconds for the hunt of a lifetime.

I was just in the boundary waters this past week. Fish were spread out, but once you find them, they were hammering 1/4 jigs. Yellow and orange tipped w a minnow. 37-38ft off the drop off. Once it got darker they moved up the drop off to shallower water. Good luck!
