Re: Live from the lake!
Forgot about this thread, nice work bigwoods looks like you've been busy. Got out a little opener in MN, lake was mostly ice but we managed some nice eyes from shore, just too many slot fish so we had to throw 90% of them back. After that my 6 year old and I have been on a bluegill tear, having a lot of fun but working on teaching my son and nephew we don't need to keep and eat every fish we catch.

Re: Live from the lake!
Fixed my seat bases that broke last weekend... two new quick release for the rear and a beefy base for port side passenger. Also fixed my bimini top... trailer light battle continues. I'm going to rewire the trailer I think.
Fished muskies 11pm to 3am and no fish. Decided to trailer the boat 100 miles and fish walleyes. It was really fun from about 6am to 9am, before it got nasty... then it was a chore. By the time it started settling down we were ready to head home.
Best two walleyes I caught and released today were a tagged 27" and a chunky 24"
I was riding around marking fish then drifting through them with a Slick Stick and hook/leech on 7-8ft leader. The walleyes are concentrating near the underwater bug hatches there.
Love these days on the water ...

How has the musky fishing been up north this year? I'm heading up to Land O Lakes in about a week. Gonna be my first trip north since gun hunting so I am really looking forward to it. Been hearing the skeeters and black flies were really bad. Any improvement?

Re: Live from the lake!
Nice fish everybody... Went out with Pete J in my canoe on a carry in lake and we hit some nice pike yesterday. I think we boated 5 pike total and two small bass.

Skeeters are terrible they are not get any better the worst I can remember in a long time.
I typically don't Musky Fish much in the month of June because of fish being scattered between deep and shallow water. That being said this was the fourth fish in my boat this year only going out for total of four times. (Musky fishing only)
Fish are starting to slide to the first and second breaks I see it only getting better as the warmer water continues.
Feel free to contact me when you're up here as I can give you a more accurate update and maybe hook up for a day of fishing if you like.

Thanks for the info. Were headed up Monday-Thursday to avoid the weekend crowds. Sure it will still be a bit busier than usual but hoping to offset that with night fishing.
My friend that's going up with me is not a musky fisherman at all but hoping I can convert him!
