New Twist For Perch / Walleye Recipes?
Any new twists on perch or walleye recipes? I'm always looking for new recipes and am blessed to have a fishery nearby that allows me to try many different things.
I saw a post online the other day about a guy that soaks his fillets in Frank's RedHot Sauce before dunking them in batter or bread crumbs... I like Frank's so I'm definitely going to give it a go...
How about some new twists from Beast Nation ??

I’m a huge fan of Andy’s Red.
I used to experiment with different home made blends and also store bought. Shore Lunch, Fry Magic, etc I tried them all. But as soon as I tried Andy’s Red I decided the search was over
Best part is all you do is wet the filet with water and shake it in the breading. Filet will have a nice even coat every time. Doesn’t get easier than that.

Andy’a makes a “Yellow” variety too, which is their cornmeal flavor. I thought it was good, but Red is where it’s at IMO.
Told my good buddy about Red and now he’s hooked on it

I see they also have a Cajun variety and a general “fish batter”. Haven’t tried either. I am definitely going to order some chicken breading, vegetable breading, and maybe some seasoned salt. I didn’t even know they made those products.

What’s the scoop Jonny... do you season it when done?
I’d be willing to give it a go...

With nothing on the filet? Personally, I’m a fan of oil because butter can mean soggy. I prefer a little bit of crisp on the outside.
I can see how some people would like their fish drenched in butter though. Butter is ingredient #1 for a lot of seafood

Yep. Salt and pepper to taste. Key is to cover it with Saran Wrap in a bowl. Exactly like baked fish, just quicker.

It’s pretty much just a piece of baked fish. Just instant baked

I don’t microwave a lot of fillets just cause I think baking in the oven is a little better. But in a pinch it’s super easy and quick.
But microwaved walleye cheeks are fantastic. Best meal I can make in under 90 seconds.

If your not a big oil fan like I am.
Preheat oven to 400
Crush up graham crackers and Cajun shore lunch.
Dunk in egg and milk.
Spray pan
15 min one side 10 on other. No grease and a lil spicy!

I'm going to try that mix, Dewey.
Great question on the air fryer, I have a buddy that has one... I will check and see if he's used it on fish.
