On my home lake the daily limit is 25 crappie and they gotta be over 10inches. Different lakes have different limits and slots. If I get after it I can clean 25 in 15-20 minutes. If I’m enjoying a cold one probably 30 minutes.

I’m targeting males currently for table fare. Females are the biggens. I’m letting em get good and comfy

Poked around behind the house for a bit. Sunshine and 75 means bad news for Mr Crappie.

Two questions.
1. What fillet knife do you prefer?
2. Your go to fish breading?

1.) only kind of electric knife I’ve ever used is the cheap black &decker Turkey carving one. Works well and I get about 2 years of use before it bites the dust.

For a filet knife (what I use most of the time) I use a 7” Bubba blade. I keep it sharp and it goes through em like butter. I’ve tried longer and shorter blades. The 7” is the sweet spot for me.

2.) Man I eat a lot of fish all year long. I constantly change breading to keep from getting burned out. I like all of em with the exception of the ones that have added lemon flavor. But if I haven’t eaten fish for a really long time I would go with Louisiana seafood/oyster breading. It’s ground extremely fine and fry’s up really light. That ones prob my favorite

I have that same electric fillet knife. I'm not to good with it but I don't catch a bunch of fish to become good with it either. I just have a cheap rapla knife that works good enough for now. I thought about a bubba blade but wasn't sure if it's as good as they claim or all hype. I would say my go to breading would be Andy's red or crispy southern.

Trying to enjoy the last of my days off. So far so good! Caught a race stripe crappie today. Also hung an 8# plus bass. The fight was on for close to a minute b4 he finally jumped and spit out my jig. So much for a hero shot.

Was a purdy day today! I’m talking high 70s with a 5mph wind. My daughter was out of school today so I had daycare and she didn’t wanna go fishing. When momma bear got home I got 2 hrs. To save time I just jumped in behind the house. Not the best place on the lake but better than nothing.
